Since 2013 every February the world celebrates the Hijab Day in order to educate people about what wearing a hijab really stands for. Even more important, this celebration aims to protect the rights of the individuals if they choose to wear one. Wearing a hijab should not be forced nor banned.
The media in Iran often portray women in their country as week and powerless, so there is a lot of controversy regarding the hijab law. We are not denying that in many cases this might be true, but we also agree that this is not the most accurate portrayal of a modern Iranian woman.
We want to share some light and show the world that not all women wearing a hijab are unhappy and weak. Take a look at this collection of Iranian women street style photos and see how these women wear their hijabs proudly and looking incredible the same time.
