1. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
What is it?
PCOS is the leading cause of infertility and probably the most common hormonal disorder of women, which are in their reproductive age. One in every ten women will develop this disease during their lifetime and half of them will end up with diabetes or prediabetes. The body suffers from an androgen overload which is caused by an imbalance in insulin.
Typical symptoms are: hair on face, back, chest and limbs, acne, substantial weight gain and baldness.
Unfortunately, there is no cure so the only thing you can do is manage the symptoms and prevents heart disease, infertility and diabetes. By taking birth control pill you`ll increase the chances of lowering your androgen levels, reducing hair growth and regulating menstrual cycles.
