This story is a perfect example of how strong the bond is between a mother and her child. At age 98, Alda Keating has joined her son Tom, 80, in Moss View home for elderly and they are doing just great, spending time together, watching Emmerdale and playing games.
I say goodnight to Tom in his room every night and I’ll go and say good morning to him.
When I go out to the hairdressers he’ll look for me to see when I’m coming back. When I get back he’ll come to me with his arms outstretched and give me a big hug.
Ada and Harry, her late husband, had four children and their youngest daughter died at only age 13, Tom her oldest son worked as a decorator and a painter at HE Simm building services and shortly after retirement he became a Moss View resident because he needed help and more support.
It might be strange, certainly very rare, to see mothers and their children together in the same care home, but as Ada said, “You never stop being a mum”!
As soon as their story went viral, the internet was left in awe!
