It often happens to turn to the wrong places when you need an advice. If that reminds you of the lyrics of a terrible Cheers theme song, it can most certainly happen in the real life, which was the case of a woman in Mississippi, when she turned in to a bar when she was in need.
The story was shared by a bartender at a “mostly gay” bar in Mississippi when a concerned mother of a son who recently came out on her called the bar and asked Kara, the bartender, for an advice.
Are you gay?” asked the woman over the phone.
“Yes ma’am,” responded Coley.
“What was the one thing you wanted from your parents when you came out?”
And the answer Kara Coley gave is gonna warm your heart:
Lady: My son just came out to me and I don’t want to say anything that may mess him up in the head.
Me: Well I think that you should just make sure he knows that you love and accept, wait, do you accept it?
Lady: Well umm yes if that’s what he wants.
Me: You should definitely let him know that you love and accept him! I think everything will be ok from there!
Lady: okay well thank you
She told the concerned mother of a recently out-of-the-closet son that the best thing she could do for him is let him know that she loves him and accepts him for who he is!
Kara’s tweet went viral and the commenters were pleasantly surprised by the story. See, sometimes the bartender gives you a “tip”.
