“Love at first sight” – these were the words that Ingeborg Mclntosh used to describe how she felt when she held Jordan in her arms for the first time. The love was so strong that she fought tirelessly to adopt him and give him a new home. Little did she know that he would return that same love in times when she needed it the most.
We often hear the phrase “pays it forward” which usually means someone making a small gesture like buying a meal for a stranger, but in this case paying if forward meant saving a life, literally.
Her family has cared for more than 125 foster kids over the years, but somehow Jordan managed to steal her heart.
He was raised in their home, but his biological mother didn’t allow the family to adopt him, because she preferred black parents over white.
As time passed by, seemed like it was impossible to find a home for Jordan, so Ingeborg decided to adopt him.
“He was a part of the family, no matter what.”
