According to reports, a number of people have been injured in a shooting in the Dutch city of Utrecht this morning.
One or several gunmen opened fire on a train in the center of the city at around 10:45 local time, according to witnesses. The police have said that the gunmen may have had a “terrorist motive”.
According to officials, trauma helicopters have been sent to the scene, and they are appealing to the public to stay away and allow the first responders to do their work.
Local resident Jimmy De Koster who witnessed the incident told De Telegraaf that he was standing at the traffic lights, and he saw a woman lying down. He thinks that she would have been between 20 and 35 years old, and she was shouting:
“I didn’t do anything”.
Utrecht police wrote on Twitter that there was a shooting incident and there are several people injured.
Utrecht is a city located around 25 miles south of Amsterdam.
