An Iconic Brand Finally Acknowledges That Curvy Women Also Work Out

4.8 million people follow Nike`s Women Instagram account and they are all treated daily with pictures of inspiring ladies working out.
If you look closely women with curves are left out from all athletic brand advertisements.

Last Thursday, Nike, decided to make some changes by welcoming Paloma Elesser, a New York-based model to its plus-size division to help market one of its new sports bras.

As you can see in the picture above Elesser shows how to tell if your sports bra fits your body correctly.  What`s even more interesting, there is no mention of her being plus-size or anything else that separates this image from the rest.

What` Nike trying to achieve is to normalize the idea that all women work our regardless of their shapes and sizes.

Many of Nike`s new bras are available only up to size XL or E which is the same as a DD. There are also some mixed feelings – some praise Nike for its new approach while others claim that the offerings are still unattainable.

Anyway, this is still a step forward to the right direction and we hope that other sport brands will follow Nike`s lead.
