Jill Krausser, a writer and mother of four, recently found a photo that reminded her how grateful she was for the nurses who took care of her before, during and after childbirth.
The photo was taken by Kathy Leser and released on the Momma Taking Shots site, and after Jill shared it, the photo became viral on all social networks in matter of minutes.
“I will never forget the faces of the nurses who followed me in the bathroom after each birth, at times when I was so vulnerable, tired, frightened and distressed; I was given only kindness and respect. For me, these were moments when I realized that I had someone to help me, at least for that short time in the bathroom. This photo immediately brought me back in time, “wrote Jill in the description of the photo.
Soon after other mothers from all over the world came forward and shared their experiences.
“I will remember forever the nurse who helped me in the spa for the first time after delivery. I was bleeding badly and I felt horribly humiliated, but she did not even blink. I was constantly apologizing, and she constantly persuaded me that it was no problem. I will never forget how she was cleaning my feet,” another mother commented.
“No one really does think of the moments when you had just given birth, when you lost all dignity, and your body went through things you could not imagine. You whole body hurt and you want to die. The nurses understand this very well.”
