According to The Global Slavery Index, today there are estimated 45.8 million slaves. Believe it or not, that`s more than at any time in history. The current refugee crisis is also fueling the market for child slavery.
Human trafficking, labor-based and s*xual are primary modes of slavery.
These 5 countries hold more than 58% of the world`s slavery population.

Most common forms of slavery: Bonded labor, domestic work, agriculture and s*x work.
One survey for The Global Slavery Index said that there are many people in his/her village who work as a bonded labor and often many of them are physically and sexually assaulted. Their families are also threatened and forced to leave the village they live in.

Most common forms of slavery: Bonded labor in industries like brick making.
There are more than 20.000 brick kilns in rural Pakistan filled with desperate laborers who usually get trapped in illegal debts. If the person who has debt dies, than his children or other family members inherit the debt so they also get trapped in the never-ending circle of slavery.
